Congratulations to the winners and participants at this years show, some of whom are

shown in these pages. The good number of entries ensures a promising future for the

Club.

Thanks to the Tweed River Show Society, the grounds were wonderful, well kept and

beautiful.

I believe that the meals and entertainment were very well supported and enjoyed.

Barry Glasby provided a fantastic atmosphere with his music during the evening meal.

I liked that the full length of the Jersey Cattle shed is available. It makes for an easier,

more relaxed time when we don't have to lug heavy shades and spend time setting them

up and pulling down after.

Welcome to the new members. We need lots of volunteers too !

Highlights during this year:

For Jan and Alan Lee; at the NSW Chihuahua Club Shows, their smooth coated

chihuahua, REKYDAN Call Me Madam was Best in the Open Show and in the

Championship show, their dog, ALLSAN Gold N Black also won Best in Show.

For Alby Webster, ALLSAN Shrek owned by Dr Leith Bungey in WA, at seven months

won not just Best in Group but Runner up to Best in Show All Breeds Champ show in

Perth. At the W.A. Chihuahua show following soon after, he won Reserve Best in Show.

Whew!!!

For Pam Roberts: her GSP bitch Caddy became a triple-titled "club member", and is now

known as CH. GILLBRAE AS TIME GOES BY AD, JD. She is in training for her ET

title this winter.

There has not been much publicity over the poisoned dog food crisis in the USA. I find

this lack of publicity quite disturbing, unsure and suspicious of what might be added to

dog food here. No news in this regard is not good news IMO.

Another news item I found disturbing is that someone in the USA had their car stolen with their show dogs in it. Some time later the car was found, burnt out with all the dogs still in it. A terrible thought since car theft is not unknown in Australia. Do take care not to leave your keys in the ignition !
