AIDE MEMOIR TO THE
CHIHUAHUA STANDARD
“saucy, sound,
swift-moving"
Apple-dome, large dark, round dark,
eye.
Large flaring ears at "ten to twelve”
Deep stop, lean cheeks'
and
strong, jaw too.
A scissor bite, with even teeth,
moderately
short muzzle, with chin beneath.
Good reach of
neck with swan
like
crest
Well-laid shoulder,
good fore chest,
Good spring of ribs and elbows neat
Forelegs straight,
small dainty feet
Good turn of stifle,
well laid hocks
Length just longer than wither height, not like a box.
Nice level top line, flat "beaver" tail
all
furry
High set carried sickle-like not tucked under or curly
Smooth, close, silky coat of just any hue
Long coat have fringing,
ruff, pants and plume too.
Weight up to six pounds, with smaller preferred
Boy to have "tow down" as doubtless you heard
But one thing remember if showing is a must,
Never ever betray your little friends trust.
Don't lock him up in cage, to pine away the days.
Don't supplement your wages,
with puppy farming ways.
Don't sell
him
off to dealers,
In Australia or Abroad,
just work some extra hours,
That Swiss holiday to afford
So honor, love, enjoy him
He's worth his weight in gold
He'll be your loyal companion,
until
you are both Old.
